www.BeenVerified.com - Been Verified Background Check Reviews and Scam

posted on Jul 27, 2010

www.BeenVerified.com allows you to do background check on people online that you may never be able to find with a normal white pages check or a Google search. They have been featured all over the new with CBS, CNNMoney, The New York Times, TMZ, TV Guide and may other media.

BeenVerified helps you to locate old friends, does reverse phone search, tap into criminal records, help find sex offenders and also provides alerts to background check. During the 7 day trial offer, you can run unlimited background checks and then cancel anytime.

Here is what www.BeenVerified.com charge. $16/month monthly membership or $72 for a 6 month membership. A 1 year membership cost $96. This is in comparison to some site that charges as much as $50 for just 1 background check.

So, is this a scam? BeenVerified.com does what it says it will do and so it is not a scam. Some consumers however have reported getting a charge on their debit card even when they have cancelled before the seven days trial. Others feel that it is an invasion of privacy and having records out there that people can easily pay for to check up on you. So, these group of people feels like it is some kind of scam or identity theft where the company is profiteering off by selling personal information of people. If you need to cancel, call 1-866-956-6279 to talk to their customer service representative.

What do you think? Help us review and tell us if www.beenverified.com is a scam?

i did have a trial with been verified one time and i was able to cancel it before my credit card was charged, but i do find it strange they need a real credit card for the trial period. i once tried a prepaid gift card and they declined it saying that they needed a real credit card on file which i felt was also strange. its like they are hoping you wont cancel the service and charge you what they like. i guess they think if its a prepaid or gift card you wont have enough funds to cover the cost of the site.i did it once and i found it interesting. nothing too special about the site but it worked for me yet i wouldnt do it again. - posted 15 months ago by Jon
